Understanding the special requirements of FHA Mortgages is essential for all involved in Mortgage Brokerage and Mortgage Processing. Basic underwriting guidelines and criteria are different than other mortgages. Class will count toward continuing education requirements for Florida Mortgage Brokers.
You will learn:
· Basic underwriting guidelines and criteria to the review and processing of FHA mortgage loan files;
· The differences between the three HUD mortgage insurance funds;
· Maximum loan amount calculations, ratios and mortgage insurance calculations;
· How the Mortgage Credit Analysis Worksheet (MCAW) is used and instructions on how to complete the form;
· The process to request Credit Alert Interactive Voice Response System Numbers (CAIVRS);
· Eligibility and processing issues regarding borrower identity requirements, co-borrowers, citizenship/immigration status and FHA's TOTAL Mortgage Scorecard.

Prerequisite:
Experience in the Mortgage Field or one of the following: Mortgage Processing, Mortgage Underwriting, Mortgage Brokerage or Technology in Mortgage Processing.

Books and Materials: School of Mortgage Lending, Course #151 FHA Lending Guidelines.

* Classes will count toward continuing education requirements for Florida Mortgage Brokers.
**Courses contain 4 hours of Florida Mortgage Law (FS Chapter 494). Will meet 14 hour continuing education requirement for Florida Mortgage Brokers.
