A new age has dawned for Reverse Mortgages like the FHA HECM (FHA Home Equity Conversion Mortgage). Repayment is not necessary until you sell the property, move into a retirement community or pass away. You or the youngest owner occupant on title will need to be 62 years of age or older, you will need to have considerable equity in your home. you will get thorough counselling to be sure you understand how a Reverse Mortgage works and how it will affect your overall financial picture, and there is a good amount of paperwork and an u-front appraisal required.
